Interesting book on "Children"

Toxic Childhood: How the modern World is Damaging Our Children and What We can do about it
Sue Palmer

This book deals with the modern world and how children are affected. Each chapter takes up each aspect that is essential for the child's growth. From food to entertainment, education, technology and the economic growth that lead to the consumerism and the marketing strategies that makes one to go into the trap of buying-spree nature and the role of parents, civil society and the government in making the child's growth in natural circumstances so as to make the world a better place to live. Each chapter contains suggestive reading list, websites and also suggestions.

Probably this is the one book I read in recent times about the children and the various factors that are contributing not positively for their growth. While talking to parents and educators what I always encounter the need of the hour and the things to be done. I did get answers after reading the book. Probably many of us know what is written in the book, (but surely at least with me) there is a need for more awareness and practice certain suggestions that were given. Truly a thought provoking book. I strongly suggest to each one - educators, parents and those who are associated with children.
