Hyderabad Literary Festival –January 24-26, 2014
I was waiting for the Hyderabad
Literary Festival. It was like magic as events started going on in different
venues and people rushing to see / hear the topics that they are interested in.
For 2 days I had to attend in the evenings and the ones that I attended were
really thought provoking and interesting.
And finally Theatre
Workshop by Cathal Quinn was really made me feel good. Whenever someone
recommends Samuel Beckett’s work I am not sure as to how to respond as I felt
uncomfortable in reading I was not precise in giving my reason, particularly
regarding “Waiting for Godot”, I kept on in my reading list but not dared to
start. During the workshop Mr. Quinn in his initiating to the workshop talked
about Beckett and his works and his style etc., and the reaction of the public
for his work. By the end of the workshop I did get a feeling that I
can read now “Waiting
for Godot”.
I could meet lots of people who love literature in one place, thought
provoking sessions made me feel good about the festival. This lit fest also
gave me a chance to meet people after a long time and discuss literature.
Waiting for more in the next year lit fest.
