Re-reading a book at times is motivating

Shelf Life: Ten Original Stories to Benefit ProLiteracy Worldwide edited by Gary Paulsen

One of the stories deals with the uncovering a trunk that makes difference to a woman, the point is when you look for something you may find the treasure you thought is not with you. The same thing happened to me. I was trying to organize my collection and found this book and reread the book when I found the list on my shelf in goodreads just out of curiosity. As I started reading right from the forward to the book and the introduction all memories of the book started coming back to me.

I am not going to give away the stories as I feel that will spoil the mood of the reader (curiosity at times help to find the good story).

This book contains as the subtitle of the book explains ten stories. This book is part of the ProLiteracy meant to promote literacy among adults with wide variety of programs around the world and the proceeds of sales of the books used for various activities of ProLiteracy Worldwide, a non-profit organization.

The book contains the following stories

In Your Hat by Ellen Conford
Escape by Margaret Peterson Haddix
Follow the Water by Jennifer L. Holm
Testing, Testing, 1…..2…..3 by A. Lafaye
Tea Party Ends in Bloody Massacre, Film at 11 by Gregory Maguire
What’s a Fellow to Do? By Kathleen Karr
Wet Hens by Ellen Wittlinger
The Good Deed by Marion Dane Bauer
Barcarole for Paper and Bones by M.T. Anderson
and
Clean Sweep by Joan Bauer

Forward speaks of the intent to publish the book and the ProLiteracy Worldwide. Introduction by the children’s author Gary Paulsen talks about how books and those who helped him with books changed his life. All the stories connect to the books. And a good read to motivate about books.

HAPPY READING
